IRS & FCI-TA Thermal EGSE

The Thermal SCOE will then be used during the Thermal Vacuum Test to simulate the thermal control closed loop for both IRS and FCI-TA payloads, providing:

Heater Driven Control for:

  • 6 nom. + 6 red. +3 sp. 125W Operational Thermal Control (OTC) heaters
  • 47 nom. + 47 red. + 6 sp. 50W Operational Thermal Control heaters
  • 8 nom. + 8 red. 125W Survival Thermal Control (STC) heaters
  • 20 nom. + 20 red. + 2 sp. 50W Survival Thermal Control heaters

Thermistor Acquisition of:

  • 296 NTC sensors up to 0.15°C accuracy
  • 20 PT-2000 sensors up to 0.036°C accuracy

OTC heaters could be controlled both manually or automatically by using a PI algorithm;
STC heaters are controlled automatically by a threshold law;
all heaters could be self-tested.

The equipment could provide up to 1.7kW power and it may also be controlled via EDEN I/F by CCS.

The rack is compliant with ISO8 clean room; harness includes 10m ISO8 cables, flange pass-throughs and 25m ISO5 cables for TVAC.
